Data Visualization is no longer a mere buzzword. Businesses can't seem to do without it, which is why the results of a recent survey won't surprise you! Data viz. enthusiasts keep increasing every year with growing aspirations to follow their leaders in the domain. However, what will definitely amaze you is the rise in the thought leaders since 2017. New names are not only making their mark in this dynamic space but also influencing others with their ideas and vision for the future of data viz. This visualization is a sneak peek at the rising thought leaders.
PROCESS:
The data obtained from the survey was scanned and the question about thought leaders was chosen to be represented through a visualization. Using Open Refine tool, a count was obtained for the number of times a thought leader was mentioned by the participants. Since the number of participants varied over the years, the count was converted to a percentage value and counts were normalized. Relevant data was picked to find the most influencing leaders and a story emerged which was presented using the flourish tool.
