Six years celebrating, nurturing, and advancing data visualization
In February 2019, the Data Visualization Society (DVS) launched with more than 3,500 members in the first month. Today, we’ve grown into a global volunteer-run nonprofit with over 30,000 members across 160+ countries.
Over six years, we’ve:
Published Nightingale in print and online.
Hosted four global conferences and five State of the Industry surveys.
Graduated 598 participants from our mentorship program.
From day one, we’ve made data visualization fun, approachable, and accessible through free resources like our Nightingale journal, the Data Viz Jobs Board, educational videos, and early career events.

Launched the Data Viz Jobs Board, connecting members with career opportunities.
Provided professional development course discounts for DVS Plus members.

What’s Next for 2025:
Continue growing the Data Viz Jobs Board to feature more opportunities worldwide.
Offer more networking opportunities for members through the expansion of affiliated group events.
we need your support to continue our mission
As a nonprofit, DVS relies on your support to continue our mission. In 2024, 35% of our revenue came from DVS Plus memberships, enabling us to provide resources like Nightingale, mentorship, and local group support.
Looking ahead, we plan to add at least one full-time staff member by 2026 to manage day-to-day operations. This critical step will enable DVS to grow sustainably, expand our programs, and secure additional funding sources through grants and sponsorships.

How you can help us reach our end of year goals
By the end of the year, we have set an ambitious target of raising $15,000 to address the budget gap left by lower than expected sponsorship support over the last two years. You can help use reach that goal by:
