Best for: Volunteer 4 to 6 hours a month to support specific DVS functions. Our standing committees are the “doers” of the organization. From planning the Outlier Conference to developing educational resources and managing our Slack community, committee members gain hands-on experience and build deep networks within the field.
Commitment: 4-6 hours per month.
Areas include: Events, Early Career, Programs, Communications and more.

Lead the Society
Best for: Experienced practitioners and leaders
ready to shape the strategic future of DVS. The DVS
Board of Directors oversees the governance and
long-term vision of our 501(c)3 nonprofit. We
regularly open nomination cycles for roles like
Executive Director, DEI Director, and Knowledge
Director.
Commitment: 2-5 hours a week

Work with us
Best for: Professionals looking for dedicated roles
with a specific scope of work. As DVS scales, we are
increasingly engaging paid contributors and
contractors to manage key recurrent activities. If you
are looking for a more formal engagement with
defined timelines and compensation, check our
professional openings.
Commitment: 5-10 hours per week
