The Early Career Committee consists of four subcommittees dedicated to building engagement, curating resources, and designing programming that brings together the early career dataviz community. This includes students, established professionals eager to pivot into data viz, and others at the beginning of their data viz journeys. Alexandra (Alex) Rohlfs
Engagement Lead
Alex is a dynamic leader with a knack for data-driven decision-making and optimization. As the leader of the engagement subcommittee, she drives collaboration and community engagement. When she’s not driving results, she is exploring the worlds of behavioral economics and game theory or playing tennis.
Julie Peasley
Engagement
Julie is a graphic designer passionate about data and dataviz literacy. She has a BFA from the University of Colorado and has interests in math and data journalism. She creates infographics on topics in the current news cycle, aviation, education and science.
Raquel Cabero Quiles
Global Events Lead
Raquel is the Director of the Master's in Business Analytics and Data Science at IE University and a professor of data visualization. She has worked as a sales analyst, sales manager, and extensive experience building dashboards for commercial teams. She is pursuing a PhD on how to implement AI to mitigate disinformation in visual formats.
Mikael Dewabrata
Global Events
Mikael Dewabrata is a content creator who mainly shares content about data, especially for Indonesian audiences. He wants to help increase data literacy through social media. As one of the speakers at Outlier Conference 2024, Mikael shared his journey of knowledge-sharing and its impact.
Steven Nijman
Global Events
Steven is a freelance data visualization developer and lecturer in data journalism. With a PhD in epidemiology and statistics, he worked as a data scientist for the Dutch government. Steven is passionate about finding ways to incorporate creativity into his endeavors.
Ralitza Soultanova
Global Events
Ralitza is a data visualization consultant who turns complex data into impactful visuals. She also teaches statistics and quantitative research methods to social science students. Ralitza is pursuing a PhD in data visualization to explore the use of visual narratives ro communicate social science research outcomes.
Hyein Kim

Hyein is a Taejae University student studying across Korea, Japan, the US, and China. With a passion for data visualization, she aims to transform complex data into clear visuals. As a student journalist, Hyein explores how effective visualization supports communication and enhances storytelling in diverse fields.
Tabitha Diaz
North American Events Co-Lead
Tabitha is a Tableau/Alteryx consultant at The Information Lab US and helps teams build solutions for complex problems. She loves giving back to the community that has helped develop her skills. Outside of data viz, Tabitha loves trying new food, reading, rock climbing, and crafting anything and everything!
Daria Koshkina
North American Events
Daria is an interdisciplinary artist and designer with experience in illustration, animation, information art, exhibitions, and project management. Daria received a master's degree in digital media from Northeastern University and a BA in illustration from the University of Hertfordshire.
Ligea Alexander

Ligea is an early career data journalist and former data insights specialist passionate about storytelling and interactive data design. She loves exploring design, architecture, and typography to craft data stories that connect with readers and foster community.
Carina Ye

Carina is a data analyst in the live events space, combining her background in data science, economics, and fine arts to explore the world of data viz. Outside of work, she’s usually on a yoga mat, diving into creative projects, or exploring new food spots in NYC.
Elsie Lee-Robbins

Elsie Lee-Robbins is a data visualization specialist at the Postal Regulatory Commission. She has a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, where she studied how designers create communicative visualizations. Her work spans digital and novel physical mediums - such as LEGOs, oil paints, bullet journals, and more.
Jocelyn Fung

Jocelyn is a designer pursuing an MSc in data analytics and visualization at the Pratt School of Information. She spent her career as a UI/UX designer and 3D artist in the video game industry. Today, she's pursuing a new career as a data journalist. Jocelyn is from Vancouver, Canada and now lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Paul is an industrial-organizational psychologist and the director of people analytics at the University of Virginia. He has a Ph.D. in business psychology from The Chicago School and an interest in data visualization literacy.
Cedric Lary

Cedric is a data analyst at Story Planet, a small literacy company in Toronto, Canada. He took an interest in data visualization while conducting research in his undergraduate studies. He deepened his understanding and interest in data storytelling by completing dozens of DataCamp courses.
Kenneth Apeh

Kenneth Apeh holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nigeria, and works as a data analyst. He specializes in data science and data visualization with a focus on health and climate change. He is passionate about improving data literacy among young people and empowering them to use data for positive change.

Manel Abdelkefi is an artist, designer, and PhD holder in art and mediation from the University of Sfax. Driven by a passion for visualization, she uses this powerful tool to communicate complex ideas and inspire reflection.

Ojo is a Data Evangelist with 20 years of tech consulting experience. With a focus on data visualization, he specializes in cybersecurity and climate awareness. Ojo enjoys sharing Tableau's best practices on social media. Ojo is a DVS Mentor, Tableau Ambassador, dad, photographer and traveler.
