DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\n\n\nConnect with others who are exploring data visualization through this informal networking event. \n\n\n\n\nWhether you’re new to data viz\, building your skills\, looking for advice\, or have experience and ideas to share\, join us to meet new people\, exchange perspectives\, and learn from one another. \nThis is a free virtual event presented by the Data Visualization Society and is open to the public to join. \nHow it works \nDepending on the number of people\, we’ll breakout into smaller groups of 5-8 people. \n\nWe start with a round of introductions: name\, pronouns\, location\, sector or field of work\, where you are in your data viz journey\, and an icebreaker question\nThen we yap. We’ll have guiding questions\, but usually the conversation drifts towards people’s interests whether it’s discussing a project they did recently\, asking for advice or feedback\, wondering about the future of the data viz field\, ranting about a job interview\, or more!\n\n“This was a great first event for me after joining the DVS! This Tea Time seems like a wonderful activity for networking and encouragement of new people to dataviz. DESCRIPTION:The Information Design Conference (formerly the Infographics Conference) is an annual event focused on information design\, infographics\, and data visualization. Each year we invite a diverse group of designers from around the world to share their work. The conference brings together around 300 attendees – designers\, students\, media professionals\, and enthusiasts—with about 20% joining us from abroad. The upcoming edition (our 18th!) will take place on October 30\, 2026\, in Hilversum\, the Netherlands.
